建長寺の鎮守、半僧坊権現は、火除けと招福のご利益がある神として信仰を集めている。建長寺裏山の階段を上っていくと、鼻が高く、背中に羽根のある山伏姿の烏天狗が待っている。烏天狗は剣術と神通力に秀で、自在に飛翔することができる半僧坊の随身である。
