If there's one place in Japan that knows how to go all out for Christmas, it's Huis Ten Bosch. The Nagasaki theme park is getting ready for another festive season, but this year there's something particularly special to look forward to. Its much-loved illuminations have been completely revamped for the first time in 16 years.

The new display, called The Starlight Million, officially launches on November 6, transforming the park's European-inspired streets into what promises to be a spectacular sea of stars. Lights will shimmer across buildings, cobblestone streets, and rows of trees, creating the impression of wandering through a European town beneath a glittering night sky.

The new illumination arrives alongside European Holy Christmas, which is being billed as the park's biggest Christmas celebration to date. Amsterdam City will be decked out with festive decorations, while the Christmas market offers seasonal food, drinks, and gifts. Visitors can also enjoy live Christmas performances, carnival games, and opportunities to meet Santa.

There's something for Miffy fans, too. The park is introducing its first Miffy Christmas celebration, featuring the characters in their winter outfits, including a special stage show with Miffy and friends.

The Christmas festivities run from November 6 to December 25, while The Starlight Million will continue through February 25, 2027. For anyone visiting Kyushu over the winter months, a visit to Huis Ten Bosch could be a memorable addition to the itinerary.

For those visiting the area via public transport, Huis Ten Bosch Station (Ōmura Line) serves the theme park. The journey takes around 90 minutes from Nagasaki Station.
