Okayama's Korakuen is known as one of the 3 great gardens in Japan and is named the “garden of pleasure after”.
It has a large area of grassed lawns which is quite unusual for a Japanese garden. It does however have a lot of typical features such as a large pond for of Koi, lots of neatly clipped bonsai trees and elegant little bridges and stepping stones over various water features.
The park also has a orchard of plum trees to view the march blossoms, and whole garden is over looked by Okayama Castle. Climb the look out to take it all in!
