Hozenji

Hozenji is a small Buddhist temple, situated close to Dotonbori Bridge. It is famous for the statue of Fudo Myoo, the deity known for its fury, who is thought to protect people from evil. People now water the statue when making a prayer, though originally worshippers who did not bring an offering splashed the statue with water. Because of this habit, lots of moss resulted, giving the statue a green appearance.
