Autumn arrives in the world of the Moomins this September, when Moominvalley Park in Hanno, Saitama, celebrates the season with decorations, entertainment, nature, and plenty of photo opportunities.
Moominvalley Park Harvest runs from September 12 to October 25, transforming the park with autumn fruits, pumpkins, kochia plants, and seasonal decorations inspired by the stories.
One of the highlights is the 320-square-metre "Terrace on the Lake," inspired by Joxter, the laid-back friend of Moominpappa. Visitors can relax on large cushions while enjoying the autumn breeze, rustling leaves, and views across the water.
At Emma's Theatre, the new "Apple Pop Playtime!" show brings Moomintroll and friends together for an autumn celebration. Different Moominvalley characters will appear throughout the performances, with two shows held each day.
There are also plenty of photo opportunities, including the park's popular umbrella sky, which takes on autumnal colors and is decorated with large apple-inspired balloons. Kochia plants add another seasonal touch to the scene.
After dark, the path towards the lighthouse will be illuminated, while weekend and holiday fireworks will light up Moominvalley Lake. Decorations inspired by "Moominpappa's Memoirs" will also bring the stories to life through art and displays.
