Oku-Nikko’s Ryuzu-no-taki Falls

Autumn brings a stunning change of color

The forest turns out wonderful reds and yellows at Ryuzu-no-taki Falls around mid-October. It is so beautiful that no one can miss taking nice photos! The cold air along the Yukawa River brings the beauty of autumn from Senjo-ga-hara marshlands to Chuzen-ji Lake. Autumn visits Ryuzu-no-taki first, and then spreads to other mountain areas in Nikko. Iroha-zaka, the road that zigzags its way up into the mountains here, is always crowded with huge numbers of early birds making their way to the falls. But these falls are worth viewing, even if you are packed into a busy, noisy bus for one hour!
