Visitors to Tokyo can now add a little Japanese-inspired style to their trip with a new nail art experience at a tourist information center in Shibuya.
From October 9, WANDER COMPASS SHIBUYA, located directly at Shibuya Station, is offering nail art sessions designed with international visitors in mind. The experience combines Japanese and Shibuya motifs with the convenience of a short activity that can easily fit into a busy sightseeing itinerary.
Design options include cherry blossoms, kanji, and the famous Hachiko dog, as well as seasonal designs such as Halloween motifs. Visitors can choose a design and have it applied during a session lasting from around 20 minutes.
Prices start at 3,000 JPY for a 20-minute one-point nail art experience featuring a Shibuya-inspired design on a single nail. Other options include kids' nail art, nail care and one-color nails, with prices ranging from 5,000 JPY to 11,000 JPY depending on the service.
The service is available to both walk-in visitors and those who make a reservation, with staff able to assist international customers.
Rather than taking home another conventional souvenir, the experience offers a way to carry a small reminder of Japan throughout the rest of a trip. It also provides an introduction to Japanese beauty culture without requiring the time or cost of a longer salon appointment.
WANDER COMPASS SHIBUYA is connected directly to Shibuya Station, making the experience particularly easy to access. With the area already attracting visitors for its shopping, nightlife, street culture and famous scramble crossing, the nail art sessions provide another short activity to add to a Tokyo itinerary.
