This year was the 5th anniversary of ULTRA JAPAN. The festival was held from the 15th to 17th of September over the span of a 3 day weekend. Over 100,000 people from all over the world gathered together to experience the best DJ’s on the globe gathered in one place. Every year Ultra, specializes in using the ultimate stages for audio-visual performance headliners that stimulate the crowd’s 5 senses to the max-level!

This year’s festival contained the MAIN STAGE, RESISTANCE STAGE and ULTRA PARK STAGE as well as a fashionable Onitsuka Tiger street. This year was also the first time the festival presented a ladies only area with a powder room. Around the spacious free space area attendees could lounge on air cushions and even have a small picnic with friends. Doesn’t matter where you go, ULTRA has it all prepared for everyone to enjoy.

Seems to have become a yearly tradition for ULTRA JAPAN to have at least a 1-day typhoon participating in the festival. This year the Red Bull bar even turned into a mini onsen but sun or rain, people danced their hearts out to the beats of electronic dance music.

If you are looking forward to participating in this epic festival next year be sure to check the ULTRA JAPAN website as early as February. This is when the early bird tickets start selling, which are almost sold out instantly. Regular prices for ULTRA JAPAN are usually available for around 14,000 JPY for a single day pass or 30,000 for a single day VIP pass. There’s also an option to purchase a special 3day pass for 39,000 JPY.

As usual ULTRA has a huge list of headliners but here are some of our favorites:

  • Jonas Blue
  • Nicky romero
  • Armin van Buuren
  • DJ Snake
  • Afrojack
  • Zedd
  • Axwell Λ Ingrosso
  • Galantis

With all the different kinds of music such as house, techno, dub and hip-hop at its peak, top-notch art and fashion, and an epic firework show over the main stage to close things out ULTRA JAPAN certainly lives up to its name and high reputation.
