六義園は、五代将軍・徳川綱吉の頃に築造された大名庭園です。春、三本のしだれ桜が絡み合うように枝を伸ばし、まるで一本の大木であるかのような荘厳な姿を現します。夜間ライトアップは日没から夜9時まで。

私は日暮れ時に入園して回遊式築山泉水庭園を散策し、夜の帳が下りるのを待ちました。薄桃色の桜の花が、ゆっくりと群青色の空に浮かび上がっていきます。月夜の桜は、心にしみる美しさでした。
